Some rudimentary research and ruff design of Buildings and Landscapes

Carry on the last painting and imagination of  the world in my mind, I painted some ruff landscapes and some buildings in that world.

In order to design good enough building and landscape fit the style of anicent Chinese fairy world ,I read some books about anichent Chinese buildings ,Landscape and Chinese traditional Gardens.

It's neccessary to understand the  instruction ,shapes and the principle of the buildings and Traditional Gardens. Because I think if you want to try to design and imagine a new, a fantasitic building and landscape ,you should know some professional knowledge.

Although they are unreal and imaginary, they should be designed and created seriously,just like  they really exist in that world.

These images are just the first stage of design,they are only rudimentary drafts.

  

The shape of the clouds in the sky

Some attampt and research of anicent Chinese landscapes.

The shape and lines of the mountains and the lake. A kind of drawing style of trees.

 Research of the position of the peacock flying in the sky. It will be the reference of the chinese phoniex bird's flying.

Some research of the ancient traditional Chinese Buildings.These are 5 types of buildings.The roof and the main bodies are different.They are usually used as palace or for the upper class.

This is the most important official building used in ancient highest education Imperial Academy,called "TaiXue".  The name of it is  "Pi Yong" which is sorrouded by the pool.It's floating on the water.

Here are some researchs of the shape line of the complex anicent buildings. If they are built on the mountain,they are arranged accourding to the height of the mountain.Each building's height and shape is all blend well with the mountain and the sky. The shape is always smooth curve,like the shape of wave and the moutain.

 This is the restored plan of the  Palace of XianYang in Qing Dynasty 2250years ago,BC 221.
It has more than 4 high-platform buildings and all complex buildings are all built on the same platform.

 This is a kind of palace building called"Shuang Que"in Han Dynasty 2000years ago,AD221.
It always has a pair of tower building built on very high terrace. They usually conectted with a long corridor with roof. It's very popular in Han Dynasty.According to the records in books,in Han Dynasty, the capital LuoYang,there are tower buildings everywhere in the city area.

This is the contrast of the Palace of XianYang in Qin Dynasty BC221 and the front gate of Palace of DaMing  called "Han Yuan Hall"  in Tang Dynasty AD618. The Han Yuan Hall in Tang Dynasty is much more impressive powerful.The complex buildings are all built on a pretty high about 20metres high platform.
And the central Jade Stairs extends from the highest point  more than 200meters.
